Tekki Nidan - "Iron Horse Number Two"
Tekki Nidan introduces new techniques including:
- morote gedan soto uke (lower level augmented outward inside block),
- the opposite technique, a morote gedan uchi uke (lower level augmented inside outward block).
Embusen
There are two kiai points in Tekki Nidan:
- On the first morote shita tsuki (augmented upper level inverted punch), on the right side of the body.
- On the last movement of the kata, also a morote shita tsuki (augmented upper level inverted punch), only this time on the left side of the body.
Tempo (speed)
The tempo of the kata demonstrated below has not been changed for filming. Everyone has their own tempo, however, it should remain similar for all forms/variations.
Demonstration of Kata
"Without the mind and the body working in perfect harmony, proper technique is not possible".
