Sensei Julian Mead 6th Dan in both Yui Shin Kai Karate and Ryukyu Kobujutsu

Sensei Mead started his martial arts training in 1974 aged 16 with Sensei Kitamura studying Wado Ryu. He was later given the opportunity to train with Sensei John Sullivan and quickly became a serious and dedicated practitioner of the Yui Shin Kai Karate system and in due course was invited to train in Ryukyu Kobujutsu in addition to Karate.

In 1980 Sensei Mead was given the opportunity to train in in Yui Shin Kai Karate and Ryukyu Kobujutsu under the late Grandmaster Motokatsu Inoue at the Honbu Dojo in Tokyo.

Sensei Meadís stay in Japan lasted for nearly 6 years, and during this time he joined the seniors in doing Kobujutsu demonstrations around Japan and accompanied Grandmaster Inoue around the world to assist in teaching.

Sensei Meadís experience makes him uniquely qualified and he has provided instruction to students from all over the world, continuing the teachings handed down to him by Grandmaster Inoue.

"Always remember that the true meaning of Budo is that soft overcomes hard, small overcomes large.".
